I have had this as a backup for a couple of years. Functions perfect and a fresh battery in it. Still has black leica carry case. Desert tan model. Scan model so when u hold the button down u get multiple readings. 7x power

Is it the older model or the smaller one?

I am not sure. It is flat and square about the size of binoculars. And it is the scan model so I guess its the newer model before they changed to the compact 1000/1600 models.

The LRF model is the older model. The newer model is the CRF which is the more compact vertical series.
