Left Hand 300 Win Mag

Looking for something for an elk hunt in Montana next year. Don't need anything really fancy, just a reliable 300 win mag. If it comes with a scope that would be great, but I intend to buy my own.

Have about $1500 to spend

338 Win Mag?

Maybe, I haven't done as much research on the 338 as I have the 300. I've only ever hunted deer on the east coast where a 308 is more than enough.

What do you have?

Win Classic LH blue action, McMillian stocked (no checkering! Someone ordered it that way), 26 in Lilia SS medium profile barrel (about like a Rem mag profile) with a small muscle brake.
Pretty sure less than 50 rounds though barrel but will say <100. I've controlled shots since new barrel.
