Thanks for all of the help with the stock finishing thread guys! It's greatly appreciated! Next idea/project... I have (2) Rem 700 RUMs 1 is a right handed 300 RUM, and the 2nd is a left handed 338 Edge. Even though I've always been a left handed shooter, I've always had right handed guns...AR's, auto slug guns, bolt actions... Believe it or not I actually am having a hard time transferring over to a left handed bolt with the 338 Edge. I want to get a bench rest stock for the 300 RUM and 338 Edge, and I'd like to interchange the actions on the same stock... If I buy a right handed bench rest stock (Stocky's sells KSA 3" benchrest stocks), I know I'll need to open up the left side for the bolt arm/handle, the trigger and whatever else arises... It'll save me space in the safe and $500 bucks... I've done this many times before with my Savage Target actions, whether it was my 6.5 CM or the 2 smokeless muzzle loaders I have have on Savage Target actions. It works great. But they are all right handed actions. Besides the "*** Factor" of having a benchrest stock set up for both a right and left handed actions...what else am I missing? Another question is this...the benchrest stocks I've seen all are for single shots, with no opening for the Magwell, can I use a Rem 700 long action with a mag opening in a solid bottomed block (no magwell opening) in a benchrest long action stock? Thanks
