Lee Collet Die 6.5x284

For those of you like me that use lcd's and Redding body dies, I made a 6.5x55 Sweden collet die work with my 6.5x284 by simply adding a 0.075" thick washer. Works great and I feel lcd's produce great concentric rounds.

Nice, so much cheaper than the custom set from Lee. What inner diameter is that washer?

Idk? I have so many laying around I just found one that worked. I think 1/2 or 9/16

Thanks for the info. I'll take the calipers and an empty case with me to the hardware store to make sure the thickness is correct.

I measured the ID at 0.5" tonight.

please help, I am a bit confused I just read your washer fix and I think it is ok.
but my question is the 6.5x284 is 2.170 long and the sweed is 2.165. so why use a washer that is 0.075 thick. wouldn't a washer that is only .005 be correct.

ok I measured or if you look at the book. there is still only .050 difference. so am I wrong in my thinking. that if you are using a .075 washer that you are (not completely) sizing the neck your missing .025 of it.
