675 WOW I only wish ...... SW cats are good looking but not nearly as heavy
furred as those of the North.
They still bring a fair sum and make it worth while but it'll take 10 around here
to get near 675.
My rifle really likes the Seirra 65gr Game King bullet and surprizingly enough
it has proven to be a nearly perfect performer. This load uses H-414 and it flattens
primers consistantly ( Sorry no Chrono ) I would expect 3900+ FPS.
On nearly 2 dozen animals including a Grey Fox it performed with single
entrance no exit. Most of my shots were from 75 to 300 yards.
One bad cat shot fairly close with driver error hit the off side shoulder bone
and caused a bad exit. I have only had this rifle 2 seasons now and having
shot predators for 35 years with lots of calibers ( 22-250 my favorite ) I am
really liking what I see.
Flat flat flat and DRT performance...... Works great........ I may be in love !
Down side they say is barrel life. My thinking on that is I have fired it between
250 and 300 times now, thats load development, sight in, practice, scope
test, and hunting...... everything. This year I fired 10-15 rounds to check zero
and build confidence in my ability to hit with the rifle then I shot it only
on live animals less than 35 times. So lets say 50 shots a year, if it is dead
at 700 rounds then I can use it for the next 8 years. By then I 'll want another
barrel.....just my crooked redneck logic.
