anyone have first hand experience with Kowa service and repair dept? I'm on the fence about buying a spotter but the warranty says it's non transferable which can't be good for resale and I've never dealt with them or heard much about them honestly. Thanks in advance.

I bought a pair of Kowa binoculars from a guy. The focusing mechanism was faulty. It slipped and wasn't smooth. I sent the binos to Kowa, and they fixed the focusing mechanism, cleaned and nitrogen purged the binos.

No charge.

Doesn't get any better than that.

Season before last my Kowa spotter's guts somehow popped loose during an elk hunt and was unusable. Sent it in and was charged $150 to fix.
Love the glass...

Buddy of mine has a set of Highlander's. He dumped them off the tripod and messed up both eyepieces. They fixed them free of charge and only had them about a month. I was pretty impressed.
