Does anyone on the forum have any experience with converting kimbers as a custom rifle. Would like to convert to 6.5/300. Is this a reasonable proposal or not so good.

I have had several Kimber Montana's built into custom rifles, they are probably the best platform to build a custom rifle from as all you need is a good barrel and your good to go.

I have three Kimber I built in three different cartridges. All shoot very well 1/2 moa or better. Trued the actions and installed 26": fluted Brux barrels. 30 Nosler throated .200, 270 WSM throated, 243 AI. I like the Win 70 platform
