I just bought a new 280AI and will start reloading for it, but need a starting point????
What grain do these guns like best with their 9.5 twist rate? I am hoping to use the 150 ls Acubond??? Thought??

Once you have some fire-formed cases, try IMR 7828 SSC behind a Berger 168 with a Federal 210M primer. Start low and work up. You should get some good velocities out of that combo. I use that powder in my .25-06 AI and .30-06 AI, and it works well for me.

I should have also added that I live in North Dakota and will be shooting across a HUGE temperature range, so I would like it to be as temp stable as possible. Thanks

168gr Berger VLD
63gr Retumbo
Formed Norma .280 Brass
CCI BR2 Primers
3.410 OAL
.010 off the lands

I am getting about 2940 fps at 4500 feet.

My Cooper likes 58.5 gr of H4831 with the 168 classic hunter. 2880 fps with a 24" barrel.

I used 58 GR 4831sc and 168 Berger classic hunter Fed 215M was a half inch load in my Montana but my Montana was a 1-9 twist .
