Jackson Twp Rod and Gun Club...near Armagh, PA

Range is located about 7 miles east of Armagh, PA (zip 15920) along the west bound side of Route 22. The range has four concrete benches on concrete pad, roof over the benches, pavilion and tables to stash gear, backers at 25, 50, 100, 150, 200, 290, 300, 400 and 500yds. Also has plates at 150, 200, 290, 300, 330, 400 and 500yds. Dues are $15 per year. Very close to a personal range...usually only right before deer season is there ever anyone around.

Real nice looking range,sure wish you were closer to me up here in my area there are very few ranges to shoot past 200 yds.

Thanks. The plates can be the only problem...they all used to be the size of manhole covers. The 200, 300 and 400yds plates have gotten better. In the last few years they have them all down to about 10"...which is reasonable for deer hunting. The 500yd plate is still about 36"!!! This gives knuckleheads a false sense of confidence if they wing ten rounds out there and hit it twice they call it good.

I'm still really learning...but if I can lay down a 1MOA group in a field position from my XP's at 400yds on the 10" plate I consider that decent. Usually they are in the .5-.75MOA range w/ the APS XP. Best is two groups in a row that were .25MOA at 400yds. At 500yds I usually only shoot at rocks (6" or less in size) or water jugs...the plate is so dinged that spotting hits (even with fresh paint) can be tough. Guess I need on of them big'ol .338's that everyone is raving about!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The close jugs at 200yds were for my friends to get used to shooting before we stretched things out.

The range looks great. When the weather breaks I may make my way out there from Northeast Ohio. I tried getting directions to the Club but I could not find an address. A little help please.
