I'm with you, I tend to like the 12-15yr stuff better than longer aging. I think my favorite in there is this guy.Green bottle Glenlivet and the 15 yr French oak are 2 of my favorites.
I've really been enjoying the JD rye. If you like rye whisky and like JD it's worth a try. I've been using it to make old fashioneds. Really adds a unique flavorI like the Glenlivet the most in a Scotch. But at heart I'm a bourbon man. JD Sinatra blend is fantastic.
I like that one too, it has a little more robust flavor than the american prairie, somewhat smokey, not quite as smooth, but it still goes down nice. It is a winner as well. I prefer it over Johnny Walker Green label.I just picked up some of their Campfire whiskey but haven’t cracked it open yet—I believe it is an oddball blend of scotch, rye, and bourbon?!
