Is a 260 Ackley Improve considered a magnum cartridge in f-class competition?

The reason i ask is my club has three different classes
a Sub class
a 30 Cal.class
and a Magnum class
and the shooter wasn't happy that he was put in with the sub class shooters

.260AI is not a .30 cal.
.260AI is not a magnum.
That leaves one class left to choose from...
Standard bolt face .473", not magnum bolt face .532/534" too. The original parent case is a .308Win. I don't see any way a .260AI could ever be interpreted as a magnum.

My 24" .260AI does not compare to a magnum. Even a short barrelled short magnum. My 20" 6.5SS easily outruns it.

I used to shoot a 30-06 AI and a 30-284 in the .30 caliber class with 30 inch barrels getting close to 300 win mag velocities, Yet not being in the magnum class and shooting against .308 Winchesters, I had a nice advantage, That was my strategy, This was a long time ago. And no, Nothing you do to .260 Remington will make it a Magnum. The disgruntled shooter was put into the right class.
