Nice shot Len. Indeed a long one. I remember the first shot I took on a moose, after tracking him in the snow for over half a mile in a large circle and sheding all my winter clothes along the way trying to keep up with him, I spotted him about 75yds ahead of me. The first time I spotted him we spooked each other and he took off, but being in the snow I wasn't going to loose him and his minutes were numbered, unless he heard me. The snow was fresh and was about +10F. I could hear him move then stop, so I only moved when he did. There was no wind thank God and I eventually caught up with him. He was circling to my right at an urgent walk, so I found some cover to cut him off and a spot to make the shot. If everything worked out I would get to the spot about 15 seconds before he passed between two spruce trees 10' apart. Everything was perfect, I made it to about 35yds from the two spruce and he was 30' from the opening and not stopping. I drew back and released as he walked through. My jaw dropped, as it looked like my arrow was in slowwww motion. It passed through the opening at lung level BUT 1 foot BEHIND the moose! In an instant I felt utterly dismayed but at the same time VERY happy I didn't stick him somewhere behind the lungs. I had learned a HUGE lesson and thank God it only cost me an arrow. The lead on him should have been about 7' not 1'. I was shooting, I think, a Easton 6013 shaft from a 90# PSE Fireflight 3D and it wasn't slow either. Moving targets are a whole other ball game. I shoot instinctively and 10yds would be long range for me right now, I haven't shot for several years but am looking at a couple bows right now.
