Introducing the Absolute Hammer

So just ran through the first set and the numbers are as follow

Shot a 3 shot group at 59.2 just to see, velocity spread was larger than I wanted but the group was 1/2 MOA with 2 touching so I might play with it a bit.

If anybody has the QuickLoad with StaBall 6.5 could you run the numbers and compare to faster powders?
 
Not familiar with that cartridge. For somebody in the know, how does that 3323 MV compare to a Hammer Hunter, or a similar weight lead core jacketed bullet? Thanks
 
If my 27" 7mm WSM can send the 143 HH at 3350 with Re22, I wonder what I might see with the 155 AH? Only sticking point is the barrel is 1/9. Waiting for a bit lighter 7mm that would go even faster might be my best bet.
Question on twist- in theory if you push a bullet faster, can you get away with lower twist rate but still achieve the same bullet rpm? Thus the same stability as a faster twist rate but slower bullet?

I'm asking for the same reason- I have a 1/9 twist -7 SAUM . The 155 AH says 1/8, but if you can push it 200-300 fps faster can you get away with a 1/9 twist?

Short answer is no.
 
I do have a 7-08 with a 1:8 twist. Any recommended starting place and powder for the 155 Ah? Estimate on max velocity?
 
Run your numbers through one of the many stability factor calculators and see what it says. Typically I found you need a very big jump in speed to compensate for twist. But ultimately try it in your rifle it will be the definitive test. I have a 257wby with a 12 twist and it shoots Bib 110s perfectly. These are supposed to need 9.4 to stabilize. I shoot them at 3400 fps which is just normal for a 257wby. So your individual rifle might or might not like it but it will definitely let you know.

Since these are solely a hunting bullet for me, and Steve @ Hammer Bullets recommends twist rates based partly on termimal performance on game for a given bullet, I am holding out for the 1/9 approved weight.
