Introducing the Absolute Hammer

Does anyone happen to have any load data for the 129 grain absolute hammer in 6.5 PRC? I have looked just about everywhere and can't seem to find anything on it. Any suggestions would be very welcome also. My rifle has a 1:7.5 twist rate with a 24" proof barrel. I think I have a stock of most powders that one could use for it. I am trying to take the warning from hammers web site seriously where it states that you have to be careful in how these are loaded with powder weight.

It's in the Absolute Hammer Load data thread post #2

Ive been loading the 123gr AH for a couple months now and it appears that the Hybrid 100V / StaBall 6.5 is the ticket for those. If anything for the 129gr I would take a look at the slightly slower powders in the Superformance range. Superformance would work but I have found it to be highly temperature sensitive to the swing of over 100 fps from 30 to 80 F.

N550,n555, rl 19, 4831 4831 sc, ramshot hunter are all just a couple notches slowers than h100v. I will be trying n555 with my 6.5 Sst. It runs the 131 hammer hunters to 3250 with rl23, accuracy was at 3200.

I did read the load data post. I just didn't see anything for the 129 grain AH. I did see all the load data for the 123 grain AH, but I was told not to use that data because it could be pretty far off with just that six grain difference in bullet weight. Steve recommended I try RL 26, but once again he did warn me to be careful with it. Do y'all think I could just start out with with 123 AH load data for powder charge? Maybe a few grains less or a few grains more? Thanks for all the help so far!

How do you do the front ignition, Sir ?
Taper thread the flash hole from the top, thread a tiny brass tube (like an old ink refil, but smaller) the same thread 3/4 the length of the case long. Cut a tiny slot in the top to be able to screw it in. I put a dab of super glue on the threads b4 install. This requires a 100% full case of powder to work. Big military shells use this as well as low flash rounds. The powder mostly burns in the case. Also since the powder burns in the case, and not being accelerated bouncing down the bore, the barrel stays cooler, there is less recoil, your throat lasts longer, and your extreme velocity spread is much reduced. This being said. It is a pain in the a. I no longer do it. I could get no increase in velocity. Look up Rocky Gibbs Cartridges and Front Ignition Loading Techniques. Some info can be found in one of the Cartridges of the World books. I even put a few gr of pistol powder on the bottom to see if I could boost velocity a bit. After a year of playing, I decided I had better things to do. Things I noticed (30-378)... Ejected brass was way too hot to touch, felt recoil was less, my barrel did not heat up after 5 shots, and my fps ranged from 4025 to 4035 for a 130 gr HBN coated 130 gr TTSX. 110 gr RL22. Without the flashtube 113 gr RL22 ranged from 4020 to 4055 fps. Both shot in the 3/4 inch range with 2 holes touching.

I'll be posting results
The RBH has plenty of case for the needed powder increase
The 7 saum is going to be a different story
I've got lots of different and faster powders on hand. Also ordered 8lbs of N555 that may be thrown into the testing if needed
I'm building a 7 saum and the VV N555 caught my eye too. How does a guy go about getting data matching a brand new powder to a functionally off-market cartridge? VV has some data for the 284, would it work to start midway on that info and go up from there? I'm building around 180s so the 555 is probably too fast to be ideal but I like the idea anyway.

300 RUM with 178 AH @ 3.67", Fed 215, new ADG brass and RL 26. 10 twist Lilja
90 - 3241 FPS
90.5 - 3293
91 - 3336
91.5 - 3327
92 - 3363
92.5 - 3376
93 - 3406
No ejector marks although that 93 was a "clicker"
Did you ever run another load in the 300 RUM with the 178 AH? I just ordered a box of 50 yesterday, and I have RL26 but also H1000 and a few other slow magnum powders.

I didn't see much in the thread with the load data, you @ 94.5gr of RL26, and RocKMtn at 97grs of I guess all three of the powders he listed.

I didn't do any more with it. Basically just velocity testing.

I'll admit I'm impressed so far. I might have to clean my cases deserve these things.
