IMR 4064 .308 Loads.....got a Fav?

Despite the fact that the burn rate is SO VERY close between 4064, VARGET and RL-15 (in a 308 anyway) some 308's will still do better with one or the other. If you must use 4064 then I think charge weights have been stated already. Between 42-46 depending on your chamber, twist bbl length ect...Varget is a much better powder as is RL-15. If 4064 wont work for you then RL-15 is a super great powder that the 308 excels with. Keep that in mind for the future. 42.0 with the 175 or 178 is awesome. 43.5 with the 168 is awesome as well. Slightly less velocity but AWESOME accuracy.

Good shooting! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've experimenting with some diff loads for my ar-10 match, I really like hornady's 168gr. matchkings BTHP. I have also used a couple of powders and mine likes IMR4350 kind of a popular powder for a few bench shooters at my local range. 47gr on the matchkings produce 1/2" groups at 100' all day.
For hunting I like 2 the nosler combined tech (winchester) 168 gr and hornady's 160gr. ftx the leverevolution stuff with 46gr. of the same 4350 is a light recoil load that cycles in my auto just fine, and getting 3/4" groups at 100'.gun)

44.0 of IMR 4064 was a match load with 168 MK for years.

Duplicate Fed GMM loads

42.8 with 168
41.8 with 175

FC or LC brass
Fed 210 Match primers

Sure love the 308 Win.........simple cartridge to reload.

Michael, have you tried RL16 ? I have heard good things both in accuracy and Velocity but I have not found any as yet ?
