How about 3 in one not so long gun?
My Desert Tech SRS-A1 with a 30" Lija .223 WSSM, a Bartlien 6.5 PRC, and Bartlien .338 LM barrels. Works pretty good for me, although I would like an HTI in .416 Barrett, and .50 BMG for the larger targets.

I live in Texas & 90+% of my hunting is native Texas game. However, I have hunted out west & did kill my first elk this past fall, which I hope to have the opportunity to do again. I enjoy tinkering with loads, thus shooting paper & shooting steel at distance, but do not compete. All of my rifles are setup as hunting rifles.

So, if we are talking 3 rifles, I could comfortably say: 22LR, 223 & 7mm SAW
If we are talking 3 long guns, as was the question, I'd say: 20ga, 223 & 7mm SAW

With only 3, I'd keep my 7 Mag, 22-250 and get a .308 with proceeds from my 6 and 6.5 guns.
