Going through the same process with Steve. Targeting that 8lb mark, I think we'll come in 8.5lbs. I went with the Defiant Hunter, but the anTIX has merit. The Hunter has a little more flexibility for mounting the shorter, lighter scope I want to use. I also like a 3 position safety, unavailable in the anTI line. Integral rail is important to me. Bartlein #3 fluted, and 24". Looking at Carbon Fiber the advantage seems to be in heavier contours. Again trade offs, plug in a desired weight, and start adding, and it goes up fast. It's a heavy rifle, but with the PK I was able to spot the shot on last falls antelope. Not a lot of time behind it, but I'm going with it a second time. I went with the Mesa stock at 25 oz, your stock wasn't on my list, and I cant find a weight. Mesa also felt cross pinning wasn't necessary with their stock, others felt it was. We'll see. Getting to 8lbs is a game of trade offs, and the ounces turn into pounds fast. DM magazine adds weight. Shaving 6-10 oz from your scope is achievable. Now we wait. Not a lot of instant gratification in the custom rifle game. Have fun! Best Wishes!
