Nice set up. Was the barrel cut down from 20" to 18" and rethreaded?
 
Do you have a magazine that fits flush with the stock or can one be purchased? Love the rifle. I just like the lines of a flush magazine and doesn't catch on brush and crap where I hunt. Another question- would that stock be easy to paint? I have another rifle I painted a dark green with black drizzle and it sure looks good.

Yes, the stock can be painted. I would use Krylon paint made for plastics.

Ruger has a three round AICS magazine that fits this gun. It is very close to flush. Check their website.

To clarify, the AICS mags extend below so you can grab it, since the AICS MAGS aren't 'spring-loaded', so to speak.

The original Ruger stock has a built-in flush magazine that feeds from the top. I believe it's in Hunter Green and holds 3 rounds, I think.

Here in PA you're allowed to carry 5 rounds in your rifle while hunting, thus the 5 rd mag comes w/the rifle.
