I finally have all the pieces to put together my latest savage project. Its a model 111 270 pre-accutrigger model. I decided to get an Xcaliber 1 in 9 twist savage magnum contour, 26", stainless barrel, B&C sporter stock, timney trigger, savage tactical/predator bolt handle, new bolt head, new stainless barrel nut, and an eabco oversized recoil lug. There lies my problem. I got the old barrel off this morning, got the receiver face trued up, ready to screw the new barrel on and the eabco recoil lug it TOO SMALL! What a bummer! The old lug fits right over the new barrel just as it does on the old one. The ones one isn't even close to fitting over the barrel. I cant decide if I want to hit it with the dremel or send it back and wait even longer. Not the Christmas I wanted haha
