Yes, it is very easy to get confused in the heat of battle. The silly thing about this is, I wasn't in a big hurry and didn't feel stressed.
I just made up my drop chart in such a way that it was easy to get turned around, and I did.
At one time I counted clicks, but for some time use MOA.
