How to tell what barrels I have?

I have a few barrels with no markings on them. The diameter is 338 and they are fluted. Also, as far as the threads go, how many different threads are out there? For example does a Remington, Winchester, Sako, Weatherby etc. all have different threads to screw the barrel onto the receiver? I'm thinking a trip to the gunsmith might be the only way to figure out exactly what these are?

If you don't know what cartridge, you can do a chamber cast.
As far as threads, get a thread pitch gauge so you can figure out what threads & pitch you have

Probably ought to get a bore scope too, if you dont know what chamber or threads you probably don't know the bore condition either.

Or go see your local smitn.

Rem 1.0625x16Tpi
SSS 1.055" x 20tpi.
SLS 1.120" x 20tpi
Win 1.00x16tpi or 1.062x28tpi

Barrel blanks don't usually have any markings on them sans for the ends ( which get cut off) -- they wouldn't know "which side is up" before it was threaded and fitted.
Do these barrels have "cartridge" markings on them? Factory rifles and most smith's mark them with cartridge and sometimes manufacture and even their company name sometimes

How old are these barrels?I'm pretty sure atf regulations require the cartridge/caliber to be marked somewhere on the rifle-- this is normally done on the barrel sometimes on the receivers depending on the rifle

Maybe your barels were never installed on a receiver?

Sounds like you should add a little more info/back story/history and some pics so we can give better info to you.

One is stainless and is marked 338-06 and obvious signs of being fired.

The other 2 are blued and only one has markings on it. Looks like 747 and a circle with a W inside of it. All are fluted. All 3 measure 24" from muzzle to the breech.
