How to reload new unprimed brass?

I have 3 boxes of new Weatherby brass that I would like to load and have always reloaded brass fired before. I'm planning on treating it like fired brass but I am wondering if there is anything different with new brass?

Full length size it, trim to identical OAL, chamfer in/out and condition primer pockets.

You may also with to segregate by weight.

Most new brass can just be loaded and shot but it doesn't hurt to run it through a FL die which tends to improve the "roundness" of the necks. I don't cut brass to a uniform length until they have been fired in my rifle at least once, but that's just me.

Inspect all cases and throw out any junk.
Fl size
Chamfer in/ out
Uniform primer pockets
De burr flash holes
Load as usual from there.
Unfired brass may not have the accuracy potential that fired brass has so I tend to use them for practice. My es and sd's are usually higher with unfired brass.

Size to make sure necks are not to banged up fire form then trim that's how I do it

I like to run them through a mandrel first, as I find new factory brass to have too tight neck tension. This may or may not be an issue in brass that isn't formed to your chamber...but why risk it?
I hunt with virgin brass, it is more accurate in 3 of my rifles over once or even thrice fired brass.

Everyone has a system and none are wrong if it works. I usually neck size to round necks and then cycle through the action. If some are tight or difficult to chamber, they all get FL sized, and treated the same as fired brass.

Agree with Gerry, except trim to uniform length after first firing.

With new virgin brass (same brand) do you just load as usual or work up to current load?

I just reload like just like orginal loads make sure theres no pressure signs sticky bolts and shoot knowing the accuracy will improve on the next reload

I'll take the new brass and run it through a mandrel to round out the necks. I tend to not FL size unfired brass unless they won't pass a case gauge or chamber test.

I'll then do clean up of the primer pocket, flash hole, trim as needed, chamfer/deburr tool, etc.

I treat new Brass just like I do Fired Brass with the exception of cleaning & Annealing!

I do full prep even on new brass. I measure every case and find the shortest and trim them all to they length. I personally full length size with a bushing die, then I run a mandrel through,chamfer,deburr, prep flash holes, seat primers with my Co-Ax press and then load.

Lots of good advice here, as a lot of others have said, treat it like fired brass just don't worry about annealing. Good luck.
