how to make them come out at day ?

Been away from the forums for a while

just got a question to you hog hunters out there.
the wild boar where l live are extreemly nocturnal and you almost only see them dureing the day if you are driven hunting with dogs. these wild boar live in the thick forest and there are small open areas in the forest aswell.
so my question is: is there any way that l could get them to come out dureing the day ? just wondering if there is a possibility to be able to shoot them dureing the day by feding or a diferent method.

Set up a feeder and set it to go off at whatever time you want to hunt, then don't hunt it for 2 weeks or so, that way they will come out and feed eventually, and get comfortable knowing that nobody is arround. Then set up on them and have fun

Acorns are starting to dry up in our part of Texas...so they are starting to show back up in the daytime!

You may want to bait them with what ever they are eating at that time of year. Like down here in florida around x mas the acorns are falling so we bait with them only during the morning hours.and after a short time they firgure out that that pile only shows in the am. I have shown up before day break and they were there waiting on me. crazy but it works. Good luck

What is the breed???? hes a very good looking buddy
hes a Cane Corso also known as an Italian Mastiff. thay are extreemly clever animals and very very easy to train. best breed to have around children. thay love children. you know big security dogs like these could be a bit dodgy around kids. but Cane Corsos were originaly breed to look after children at farms as well as beeing traind to be WAR dogs in the Roman Empire. very good dogs to Hunt Big boar with too. thay are very powerfull dogs. the breed was almost extinct but its on the way of makeing a comeback. you will do good if you get one as a pet :)

Glenn is the best of the best of hog hunters but once hogs figure out they're being hunted it's usually pretty hard to get them to come out of the thick stuff until after dark and even then once you start shooting at them after dark they'll usually relocated completely.

Your best bet is to keep hunting in different places if possible. If you watch many of Glenn's videos you'll notice that he and his wife move around a fair bit. Hogs are slaves to their stomachs but they're not stupid.

The reason really cold weather can help is because they need more calories to fight the cold but you can't count on that to directly affect them all the time.

There is no doubt that dogs are very effective for hogs but it can be very demanding for the hunter and you'll want an area crisscrossed by roads unless you're willing to run with the dogs. You'll also want GPS tracking collars on the dogs or you might end up spending way more time hunting for your dogs rather than hogs.

In an area like Texas (where Glenn hunts) there are literally so many hogs it makes it easier but and a sounder (a pack of hogs) can't necessarily move around much without running into other sounders which can cause a lot of fighting. In most of the rest of the world the density isn't like it is there

In many places in Europe they do drives for hogs and that looks to be very effective but manpower intensive.

Hope that helps....

Throw a 50 lb bag of whole corn, into shallow muddy water. The corn will start to decompose after a couple of days and the hogs will continually come to the smell long after all the corn is gone

yeah mate, lm Australian and live in Turkey. '' born and rased in actualy '' :)

this seems like a good idea. so pigs are clever anough to have a general knowlege of time. hmmm
Do some research on the Internet I don't remember where I heard it it's been many years but a pig is one of the most intelligent domesticated animals supposedly smarter than a dog
