How old is this stock?

I picked this stock up today at a gun show for $20. It appears to be an old factory synthetic stock and seems to be significantly more ridged than the injection molded stock that came on my rifle (Rem 700 ADL), and it also allows the barrel to free float unlike the original. Does anybody have any idea how old this thing is?
