How many inch/pounds should I torque the scope rings? I bought a torque driver that adjusts from 6 to 36 in/lbs, but I see that leupold says to torque the mark4 rings to 60 lbs. I use IOR and Tally rings and I was wondering how much to torque.

Thanks Guys! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Take Care:

The screws on the ring caps (clamp the scope in place) are about 15 inch pounds as are the screws that hold the scope base to the receiver. These are generally #6 screws. Some use a beefier #8 screw.

The Mark 4, Badger and other "tactical" rings are generally attached/clamped to the bases at about 65 inch pounds. These are ~ 1/4" screws.

If these break then I musta been wrong (and of course assume no liability). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
