I have a Remington 700 CDL in 300 win mag. I floated the barrel, and I can slide a piece of paper clear to the action. but my question is how much does my barrel whip so I can make sure the barrel doesn not make contact with my stock when I shoot.

I wouldn't worry about barrel whip as long as there's enough clearance between the barrel and stock. I like .03" clearance, however if you have a wood stock and subject to alot of moisture then you might want to go higher to .04". This way the barrel vibrations can occur at their natural frequency unobstructed. In general long thin barrels will have more whip than shorter thick barrels.
