3 year old Weatherby mark v.
Chambered in 340 Weatherby Mag.
400 rounds of loaded factory ammo.
40-50 rounds down the tube.

$1800

How good of a deal is this?

Im out of touch w/ market but that much ammo would cost a chunk. I have about 25+ years behind a 340 been a great rifle for me.Itll get er donegun)

Depends how well it shoots that factory ammo and the condition of the rifle.

That's 20 boxes at $60-80/box retail, though if it's older ammo it tends to be worth less.

If it only shoots 1 load well and only 2 of the 20 boxes are of that type, you have to be willing to sell and ship what you don't need. If they're all the same type, you might find out that isn't the type the rifle likes to shoot.

But generally, you'd spend a lot more buying the rifle + ammo separately.

Here is the ammo it comes with

13 boxes 210g noslers
4 boxes of 225g Weatherby spire
3 boxes of 225g Barnes X

He says the ammo retails for $1750. Asking $1250
Asking $850 for the naked rifle. No optics.
And $1800 package deal

Rifle: If a Weathermark, ok deal. All other models a good deal.

Ammo: ok deal for non-reloader

If it has an accubreak, get the rifle.

If it were me, at a minimum, get the rifle.

Still depends how the rifle shoots them.
You might have anywhere from 7 to 17 boxes of ammo to sell if it doesn't like 2 of the 3 when you try it.
