Depending on conditions, I would take shots on deer between 800-1000 yards max. I want 1K ft/lbs minimum for deer. Took it deer hunting this fall, but my 13 year old never got the opportunity to send one downrange. Had a bruiser of a muley at 790 for 40 minutes, but he never once presented a clean shot opportunity.
For elk, I want 1500 ft/lbs, so between 560-700 depending on conditions at the time.
