I'm looking hard at a new spotting scope and leaning toward this model. I've been using a Leupold GR 12-40x60 HD for the last 10-12 years and considering an upgrade. Just not sure how much of an upgrade in optics quality this would be. My GR is 40 oz and the Kowa is 28 oz., the weight savings alone would be nice, weight is a big deal to me right now which is the main reason I'm leaning toward the 554. So I'm looking for opinions on the Kowa or any other spotter that is a reasonable weight.
