Bruce: Why do you not reuse primers? I do so frequently and have had no issues with it.
Always wear eye protection when depriming live primers. I gently push them out with a universal decapper. Never had a problem.

I have removed many hundreds of live primers from cases by simply knocking them out with a Redding decapping die. I have always reused the primers I remove. No issues, your mileage may vary.
