The Real Wolf: The Science, Politics, and Economics of Co-Existing with Wolves in Modern Times - https://www.amazon.com/Real-Wolf-Politics-Economics-Coexisting/dp/151071961X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1544931496&sr=1-1&keywords=The+real+wolf
The Real Wolf is an in-depth study of the impact that wolves have had on big game and livestock populations as a federally protected species. Expert authors Ted B. Lyon and Will N. Graves, sift through the myths and misinformation surrounding wolves and present the facts about wolves in modern times. Each chapter in the book is meticulously researched and written by authors, biologists, geneticists, outdoor enthusiasts, and wildlife experts who have spent years studying wolves and wolf behavior. Every section describes a unique aspect of the wolf in the United States. The Real Wolf does not call for the eradication of wolves from the United States but rather advocates a new system of species management that would allow wolves, game animals, and farmers to coexist with one another in a way that is environmentally sustainable.

Contributors to this groundbreaking environmental book include:

  • Dr. Valerius Geist, foremost expert of big game in North America
  • Matthew Cronin, environmental researcher and geneticist
  • Rob Arnaud, president of Montana Outfitters and Guides Association

Heeheehee...come on guys who cares what the wolves are...it's probably Grizzlies, or poachers, or disease that killed all the elk. Doesn't matter if the wolves are 100 or 200 pounds. That's not the issue. The issue is that nothing is being done about it.

You cannot address a problem until you acknowledge you have a problem and it helps if you start at the source of the problem.

The source of the problem is humans. And it is also humans that identified the problem. So it needs to be humans that fix the problem.

The source of the problem in Wyoming started with the Federal Government and the Head of the Wyoming Game and Fish at that time forcing something upon a state population they did not want. So those that caused the problem should pay to correct the problem.

Hee hee.. There's nothing funny about this bro.
The issue is that federal tax dollars funded the translocation of a non natively adapted Canadian timber wolf.
Size may not matter much, but it's commonly used as a reference to show that native wolves were not necessarily the same physiologically, and likely behaviorally, as those introduced.
Point being when someone Fu$@s with an ecosystem there are serious consequences!!!
Is that so hard to comprehend?
For the record cats and black bears kill nearly as many elk as wolves, so yes this is a multi faceted problem..
Why are we even arguing about this?
Hunters out of any demographic should be lock step on the issue of wolves..

It wasn't Grizzlies that killed 19 Elk at one time, it wasn't poachers that killed 30 sheep at one time and it wasn't disease that killed off after years of depredation by Wolves and Grizzlies the thousands of Elk in the Sunlight Basin which borders Yellowstone!!

I was laughing at the guys arguing like old women. Not about the elk problem.
Maybe we could somehow time a large educational tour of Yellowstone from the west to the east with about 100 wolf hunters waiting on the eastern side.

It is all good I was just being a smart a-s-s.
