Finally got some 285 gr match ELD's in and loaded some test rounds for my new 338 Lapua which I take ownership on next week. Will post the results.

Thanks Skipdavidson for that confirmation. The post about heavy copper fouling had me concerned as 3 of my most used rifles that were exclusively loaded with Amaxes are now forced to use ELDs or find a new bullet they like.
Another thought: with my 338 Lapua shooting consistent .5 moa out to 850 with Amaxes could the tips really be melting? Not really fast (2680) maybe that's why I had no problems with them?

So far I am very impressed with the 200's in my 30-06. I have the beginnings of a good load with 52.3 grains of H4350, Nosler brass, Fed 210's. I'm currently seating .02 off. My 3 shot groups are .33 to .50 I'm shooting a tikka t3 with standard contour on a b&C stock with 3.5-10 Conquest.

Do you know what velocity your getting there. I have a t3 in a 30-06 and 7mm Rem Mag I want to try running these in.

I finally got decent cold weather performance from my 300rum (m700lr) with the 200eld-x. I went to 93gr of retumbo loaded to 3.650" lit by a 215 in rem brass. The load shot a 1.2" group at 200 yards. My brother confirmed the load with another similar group at 200. I've loaded a box to play with in differing conditions to see if it holds true or not. I may just have the load for this rifle.

Have searched numerous websites for 30 caliber 212gr. ELD-X's ...I finally found them "in stock" at Sportsman's Warehouse...for those who are interested ...other weights are available too.

Anyone know where to get the .30 cal 178 grain?

I found the 178, 200, and 212 .30 cal, the 162 and 175 7mm, and the 140 6.5 at sportsman's warehouse the other day...In logan, Utah lol

My thoughts were the 200 grain would be almost perfect in my 30-06. If I can get them to 2600 fps or above. I would be happy.. Thanks for sharing.

I'm looking to try the 162 gr ELD-M in my 7mm-08. It still has the factory Remington barrel with the 1 in 9.25" twist. With Hornady saying that the minimum twist is 1 in 9.5", am I good? Has anyone tried these in a similar rifle?
