Hornady A-Tip bullets 250gr 30cal bullet

What velocity do you think one might get with the 250 in a 300 PRC? They designed that bullet for saami spec 300 PRC with 8.5 twist.

I'd guess only 2700 and that might take a long barrel. Maybe 3000 fps in a 300 lapua AI

Not with a .633 Bearing surface and 35 grains more then the 215 Berger.

Now maybe if they throated it long and had a 40" barrel....

I might be lucky to hit 3200 to 3250 FPS with my gun that slings the 230smk @ 3400 FPS.

So I am about to have a barrel made for my 300 Weatherby, and was going to get it in a 9 twist.....wondering now if I should get it in a 8.5......, I don't plan on shooting anything under 200gr with it.....what's y'all opinion on this Incase I did want to jump up to the 250s
