I just found this forum yesterday and haven't had much time to check it out yet. I've been hunting since I was a kid but never killed any thing over 480 yds. I'd like to get into long range deer hunting though. I don't have the gear save a leica 1200 yd. range finder so it will probably take me a while to gear up to get started. This seems like a good place to find out what to buy or what not to buy.
I was kinda thinkin bout building my first long range rifle although from what I've seen price wise I may end up buying one. I've been hand loading for about 30 years and am a machine operator by trade so I think with some more research and a little help I can pull off the rifle build. You see the problem is that i'ma cheap skate and hate to spend all the money that I need to get started
