I ordered a Bergara rifle and have a vortex 1" 44 mm obj. I want to use the leupold backcountry ring mounts. I'm not sure if I'm to use med or high. Looking for a suggestion I'm thinking medium.

I think I used high rings on my Bergara with a 50mm and have about 1/2" clearance from the bottom of the bell to the barrel. Mine has the adjustable cheek rest so it no big deal.

Stack coins on top of your action then set scope on top. Adjust to get the clearance you want for obj and bolt handle. Measure the coin stack and pick the ring you want. Talley are a lot less money and I believe leupold came out second on that pattern/material. Also gives you a good idea on how much adjustment you will get for eye relief.
