Help With Bullet choice ...

I'd go with your heaviest stuff. 180 will do just fine on elk but would prefer 200. I wouldn't even consider 180 on African game.

I harvested a bull elk with 200gr eldx 300 win mag and will be taking the same this year out west again.

As I think about shooting elk, I think about all the elk Ive killed. Hornady interlock 308, Nosler partition 338 210, 225, 250, Hawk .375 300 sp .035. I guess I like softer bullets. I have recovered some, not others. Never felt a need to shoot monos for soft animals, even tough ones like elk. Your mileage may vary. Especially of you are a bone shooter.
