I find the a larger sight picture and better clarity of my ATAC-R’s over the NSX. Unless cost were a major barrier, I would opt for the ATAC-R. The added weight/size over the NSX is un-noticeable. When weight and size become an important criteria, the March 2.5x25x52 SFP/MTR-3 reticle is a superb scope, tracking as well as both NF’s, and better in low light and high glare conditions. It will maintain definition at a higher magnification(3X+) in low light conditions as well. I have not experienced any issues above 20X with mine. IMO, it’s well worth the price.

In my opinion I hardly notice the extra 8-9oz between my 5-25x56 ATACR and my 5.5-22x56 NXS, when it comes to a 10-12 lb rifle. The ATACR is better glass but not by a lot. I would say if the ATACR meets all your requirements then go with it and don’t be strayed off by the weight. It’s the best scope I’ve ever used.

Well, yes, if you aren't packing it far. I love my ATACR but neither do I feel neglected when I use my NXS. For p-dogs, I WANT the added weight. For packing far, I want the absence thereof.

The larger sight picture is just because the eye-relief on the ATACR is shorter -- your eye is closer so the picture looks larger. Better clarity? Yeah, but it is very slight.

I’ve basically narrowed it down between the March 2.5-25x52 MTR3,
NF ATACR 5x25x56 MOART and the Leupold VX6HD 4x24x52 TMOA.

Reasons for not making a purchase yet...
NF. Weight
March Unfamiliarity, but like all specs
Leupold, bad reports on tracking? Minimal MOA elevation

Can’t decide, but only have another couple weeks before everything else is done.

Wonder if I should wait until after shot show to see new options?

I had a Leupold VX6 4-24X52. The view was marginally "warmer" than the view in my Bushnell 6500 4 1/2-30X50. But the glass was no better for seeing detail or lasting in low light.
