After my first antelope hunt this year I decided I needed to be a better shot out past 400 yards, so I am here to learn and ask questions.

My dad and I were south of Laramie. A couple days were 30+ mph but it was always breezy. I quickly realized I did not have the skills necessary to hit the goats we were seeing at 500-600 yards even on the "calm" mornings.

See, this is why I am here. If I could shoot that far we wouldn't have spent 5 days putting 60 miles on our boots before we got one to slip up and run right at us. Congrats! We had a blast but both decided we want to hunt a unit with more public land next time. We ended up hunting the edge of the HMA we were on knowing they were ducking into private when they got pressured off.
