Hey all I just picked up a new 22-250 with 1:9 twist barrel and need some recommendations for powder and loads. I'm planning to run either 69gr Sierra mk or 73gr eld Match bullets. Thanks in advance!

Mine likes 69tmk over h4831sc & 77gr nosler custom comp also h4831sc.
3200 with the 69
3060 with the 77
25" pac not barrel 1:

Slower than h4350 and h4895, looks about the same as superformance

I use the burn chart to help group the powders that
have the have close burn rates. Bullets, barnes
berger, TMK's with the heavier weight bullets.

Which burn rate should I be focousing around? Doing some reading it sounds like folks recommend anywhere from Varget to h1000(seriously?)

I loaded up some superformance and h4350 just to how the powder I have performs

I tried H4350, H414, and IMR7828ssc with 75gr Amaxes in my 8" twist 22-250. Velocity was good but accuracy was lacking. Then I tried R15. Consistently bug holes with groups in the .3 -.4" range and gives me just short of 3300 fps. It's the proverbial lightning bolt and easily the most fun combo I have.

Try R15.

John

I had good luck with RL17 and 70 grain Berger VLDs in a savage VLP.
