Heaviest bullet in .308 for 1-12 twist

The 190 SMK's or VLD's will stabilize just fine in the 12x 308 bbl. Some barrels will stabilize some of the 200's. Some wont stabilize any, some will stabilize some. You will have to experiment with some 200's to see for your self. The 190's definately will have no problem. You can expect sub MOA accuracy at 600 provided your barrel's harmonics like the 190's. Its a 308, they should enjoy the harmonics fine. RL-15 works stellar in the 308 with the 190's.

Enjoy!

I had very good results with 44.0grs. H380, Rem. 9 1/2 primers, Lapua brass, & Bergers 190gr. VLD. This worked in my 1:12 twist you may wish to start lower & work up.

Thanks for the replies. Beger also gave similar recommendations. I'll start with 185 VLDs and work up from there. When I have some valid data, I'll post the results.

You will not believe this but the Berger 210 will stabalize in a 308 (12 twist). I shoot them in my 21 in barrel 308 at 2300 fps.

Actually I do believe it. From all my research people have found that testing is the only way to know for sure. Each gun(barrel) and load combo may respond differently. You don't know till you try. I plan on testing 168,185, 190,210 bergers. Thanks.
