Considering putting a 6-9" on a 17 lb Lapua 338. Any advantages or disavantages to just the regular one vs the one with the notched legs? Additionally the 6-9" vs the 9-13" one?

Harris makes a good product for general shooting and hunting but there are better choices out there for long range precision shooters and the heavy rigs so many of us use.

Do a search here on Bipods and you'll find quite a few threads where we discuss the pro's and con's of various brands and models that are out there.

As for the length, that all depends on where you are shooting as the terrain and foliage dictate.

we always use the 9-13 seems to meet all the needs when shooting prone, and as we use the notch legs were changing back to the set screw type as they are more a solid positive lock over the slack on the notch legs. a must have is the swivel have to level for those long shots!
