Excellent story man! Congrats on a nice bull! Just curious. Why not cut the lower leg off at the joint? Save yourself some weight packing out.

I've never quartered an animal in the field before, and didn't have a saw with me. I tried cutting tendons and everything with my knife and breaking it off, but I figured I'd end up getting cut or injured in the process. I assumed I'd be better off just carrying a little extra weight, and keeping myself from leaking.
