Hammer Hunter Load Data, (See page 1, Post 8)

I do love these bullets a few weeks ago my son shot a buck at last light and he ran so he came back too camp and got me too go find him , when we got back too where he shot him there was some blood and a piece of rib bone . I told my son if you got that bullet in the boiler room he's not far find him that's the confidence I have with these bullets 5 min later this old guy with my Marcel Ledbetter head lamp on did just that , . My son shot the deer 6 in too far back angling through the lungs exiting on the opposite side hitting flesh and lungs as the bullet entered and one rib as the bullet exited at 200 yds lungs were mush perfect bullet performance
I love me a Marcell Ledbetter Carbide Light

Here's a ladder load I did yesterday on one of my 6.5-284s -26 in Lija 1-9 twist with the 121 gr HammerHunter using V - N165 ,cci200 primer and Lapua Brass oal 2.850 . 57.5 grs -3242 fps-58grs-3267fps -59grs -3306fps -59.5 grs -3318 fps and 60.0 grs at 3359 fps I had no pressure signs the load became very compressed and started interfering with bullet seating so stoped there next powder too try will be N 560 I think I can load too 3400 fps plus . Over all I think this will be a decent load for tha 121 gr Hammer hunter all powder charges from 55 too 60 grs never went over 1 in most .5 and under total 13 shot load work up
Dude, that load is smokin'. I could only get around 3250 fps with the 124 Hunter and about 100 fps faster with the 123 Absolute in my 6.5-284. I ended up settling on the 109 AH at 3511 fps and it's performance on a pronghorn was spectacular. Your load with the 121 HH should be devastating on game.

I loaded a ladder load today with my 6.5 prc 26 " proof 1-8 twist with the 109 absolute ,using H4350 . I didn't have any thing too go from so I started at 50 grs too 62 grs with 1 gr increments will test this weekend if weather permits it might smoke those we'll see my previous 123 gr load is over 3450 fps

300 WSM 19" 1:10TR
Case 2.090 Hornady
2.800 COAL (ASC Mag Length)
Primer WLRM

N550
67.2gr = 3233FPS, 53ES, 1.05GRP
67.7gr = 3224FPS, 42ES, .870GRP - Flt Primer, slight shine
68.2gr = 3280FPS, 8ES, Duplicate - Flt Primer, slight eject mark
Which bullet?

7rm 1:9 CA Mesa 24" 131 hammer hunter 62.5g imr4451 2.668od ( I believe that correct seating depth. I'll have to check notes when I get home) anyway it was exactly 20k off lands. First two I loaded for s&g. Ran out to personal range 29 degrees. Chrono didn't read. Lol. No pressure sign. Not bad for first 2. Pic won't load.

Great stuff. Here's a note I had gotten from the Hammer boys late last year regarding the 124 HH in a 6.5 PRC:

"We normally load with mag primers but found out that it causes premature pressure signs in the PRC. We just loaded one last weekend with standard LR primers and got to 3,470 fps. That's 300 fps more than what we had been seeing before with mag primers."

FWIW - I'm running the 124HH with 60.0gr RE26 in a 23.5" bbl and getting 3,300 ft/sec using a Fed 215M primer. I haven't tried the non-mag primers with Hammer bullets yet but that claim sure is interesting.

Has anyone else experienced this? (mag vs non-mag primers in PRC w/Hammer bullets)

I can't speak to that as we haven't gotten started on development for ours. Waiting on a barrel first. Hopefully someone can chime in.
