Hammer bullets rock!

I'm switching over to hammers as well. Not only for the fact they shoot great and are available, ( I hope this stays true FOREVER) but I sent a text message out later than I realized last night and Steve responded a to me and answered my questions at 6:30 AM CST , I'm guessing that's around 4:30 his time! Talk about dedication.!! Thanks again

I feel this is a very true representation of Hammer accuracy. Shot these last weekend too. Since the 131 BJ is totally unavailable, I will be using these on my pronghorn hunt in August. I have another 100 in the mail coming tomorrow. Thanks Steve!

Just kept going to see how it would do. Small squares are 1/3", big squares are 1". So .6"ish for 22 shots in varying conditions is pretty encouraging.

I have to know more ! Haven't seen many barrels with twists for 8mm that will stabilize the long ones.
Ok I now have clarity! We just got an 8mm Fat Girl done for Brian's son as a gift. We have not shot it yet. We have shot our 8mm Big Dog. (8mm-338 Lap Imp) It is a Defiance Deviant action, 30" 1-9" twist PacNor. This rifle shoots lights out with the 248g Hammer Hunter running N570 max load at 102g and a vel of 3200 fps with Lapua brass.

All I can say is that is impressive shooting. Particularly in mirage! Very much looking forward to your hunting success.

You'll never shoot anything else once you see what these do on a critter

I got some 85 grainers from Steve and it is lights out in my 6.5 Creedmoor! With 46.0 grs of REL15 my average velocity is 3455 fps...this is not a misprint! I have a box stock WBY Vanguard and all my groups are below .531", down to .297" @100 yards. With my suppressor on it kicks like a 17HMR. It is so much fun to shoot!

If I draw my Deer tag in AZ this is what I will shoot. I ordered my CDS dial for my VX-R 2x12 this morning!
That velocity should be expected with that light of a bullet. Might even get some more out of it experimenting with some other powders. I picked some 85's up also and plan on running them in my 6.5 Grendel bolt gun and will also try them in the Creedmoor. At longer ranges I think the 110 HH will serve you better. You should be able to run that 110 at or near 3200 out of the Creedmoor. Good luck on your Coues hunt. I enjoy chasing them every year. What units did you put in for?

I ordered some 85's for my grendel "pistol" 15 3/4" barrel. I'm getting 2850, Not sure if I should experiment for more. I stopped because I only ordered 50, and the first 10 were in about a 3/4" group while doing a ladder with the first powder I tried. I might load em up in my .260 for a fast coyote bullet .... thatd be fun
