Has anyone had success with with this powder? I am planning to use the Hornady 143gr Eld-x. With the powder shortage this is my best option.

I've done a little bit with H4831sc. I'm betting you'll find good accuracy somewhere close to 44gr.

John
I'm shooting the IMR version.in.a.fast twist 22 and it shoots very well. I do find however that IMR is a little temp sensitive, not terribly but noticeable.

H4831 is one of the most underrated powders for 6.5CM with 140 class bullets. If you google 6.5 Creedmoor "Carolina load", you'll find tons of positive experiences.

If you really want to see the 143 ELD-X zing, get some RL26. A compressed load will safely get you 2900 fps+.

This.

H4831 & SC, are exceptional 6.5 powders.

I looked it up. Sounds like 44.3 should work. Thank you.

I used it in a Tikka T3x 6.5 CM (1-8" and 24" barrel). I ended up on 47.5 gr pushing a Berger 140 HVLD in Nosler brass, which is one absolutely full case. Shot great though at that charge and was at ~2735 FPS with an ES ~10. However, all the crunching every time I seated a bullet reminded me of my crunchy, hippie roommate in college...not a fan.

I found 42gr actually produced a 1/8" 4 shot group. I couldn't believe it. I thought I was missing the target. The best group I have ever shot.

Fwiw I'm getting 2685 out of my 18" 6.5cm using Winchester brass, 42gr of h4350 and cci LRP. I can't remember the seating depth off the top of my head but I'm pretty sure I'm 20 thousandths off the lands and it's shooting roughly 1/2 moa out of a factory savage

IMO, H4831/SC do work in the 6.5CM, there are IMO, better performing powders. H4350, RL 16,17,23,and 26, H100V, and Ramshot Hunter have all out performed H4831 in the 3 Creeds that I have. If you have the opportunity to get some RL16 or 26, take advantage. I expermented with the "Carolina load", and wasn't satisfied with the accuracy enough to be ok with the loss of velocity.
