H4831sc and H4831

I purchased a 1 Lb container of H4831 the other day to do some reloading for my 7mm rem mag, when I looked in the manual I noticed it had H4831sc for the particular bullet I was going to to load, can I use that same data that says H4831sc, and use H4831 instead?

Yes. The only difference is the size of the kernel. SC stands for short cut, which is indicative of the shorter kernels. It was made that way for easier metering and throwing in powder measures.

Thanks for the info, so then I guess it safe to say that 50 grains of either powder will be 50 grains, and that the H4831 will look a little coarser then the H4831sc.

The H4831SC may pack more efficiently into the case, hence taking up less case volume. If you are working near case volume maximum with your load, you may have more compression with H4831 than with H4831SC. It may not cause any problems, but it is something to consider.
