H1000 VS N570 ( 28 nosler)

I am watching the topic. It has been interesting about the powder combinations for this cartridge with 195's. I just started to use retumbo and at 80 grains I was running a 195 at 3003fps. I have been interested in temperature sensitivity since I reside at 1000 ft elevation and planning on hunting for elk where I could be at approximately 10,000ft. From the numbers that I ran if correct a 195 at 3000 FPS still carries lots of energy compared to most calibers. I am thinking that I may be content with retumbo due to temperature stability, possibly a little more barrel life where I can shoot a couple more rounds to understand the capabilities and limits of the cartridge and it seems to shoot it well. Just my opinion.
I hear ya there, although N570 sounds pretty good performance wise, If the H1000 is a little easier on the throat and shoots well then there is no reason to burn a barrel up. When I called Unknown munitions one of my biggest concerns was being temp stable. Although I live at a higher elevation so its not too far of a change, I want something to perform in any and all hunting situations.

Lets say you are pushing the 195 at 3000fps with both H1000 and N570, which one is going to cause faster throat erosion?

No doubt 570, all you gotta do is put 3 rounds through your gun with 570 and H1000 in the same time frame and grab the barrel you'll know.

For the sake of a little bit of barrel life and temp stability I sure hope H1000 produces a sun 1/2 moa load.

Retumbo is close to H1000. About .5 FPS per degree. I'll do everything I can to get H1000 to shoot in a given cartridge. I haven't ever had luck with Retumbo. I try it often. If you only shoot 50 rounds a year I wouldn't be concerned about throat erosion. But don't buy a bunch of that ammo in bulk. You'll need to chase the lands about every 100 rounds as they typically move .004-.008 per 100 rounds.

I have never got Retumbo to work that well either, same with me the magnums H1000 is my go to powder.

For the 28, have any of you tried 8133 compared to h1000 with good results? On paper I don't see a lot of difference. I'm going a little lighter with a 160gr Barnes.

I use N570 (but not in 28 nosler)
In my test from -5 to 23 Celsius it moves 2.5 fps.
From what I found also on web it is extreme stable.

For barrel life.
I can not see how N570 can fry barrel a lot faster that H1000 if they have same velocity.
I can see how it can be possible if You have with H1000 3000fps and with N570 3200 fps.

We have a winner

I have great results in my 2 28 Noshers with RL-33 and 195's. I have shot my loads in 100*+ Ca. weather and hunted in high 80s to 20s and have done fine with them on game out past 1000 yards. It gets good speed too.

N570 is very consistent. I am pushing the 195 @ 3050 with very excellent accuracy. I have a 26 inch proof and really don't want to burn it up so I stopped at a very nice spot.

I wouldn't use anything else in my 28 nosler but n570 and 195s.
Im starting to reload the same what is your minimum reload just tonget an idea where i can start, im using hornady brass, 195 eol, federal 215m primer, and N570 just not sure where to start..was looking to start at 79gr and make my way to 82 gr..can you help me out or am i on the right track
