Tossing around the idea of rebarreling a CZ to a custom 338 Lapua hunting rifle. Considering buying a 416 rigby which shares the same bolt face and the magnum rifles jave a hefty barrel contour. .850 right in front of the forearm. Thinking I could take a rigby and have it rebarreled to possibly a light Palma or sender contour lapua barrel. Any recommendations on gunsmith that work on CZ rifles?

CZ stopped production of all 550 actions beginning of this year as I understand it...
You might be able to find one still in stock somewhere, or pick up a used one.

If you end up with one, I'm sure Chad at LRI can do the metric work for you.

That sucks. I love the 550 actions. I have a 458 and a 375 in the safari as well as a 550 American in 30/06. I guess I better hurry up and scoop up a 416 so I can have it made into a lapua

these guys are specialists with the CZ 550 and they do gorgeous work! I had a 404 Jeff built by them off of a 375 550 action. check them out...
