gunsite scout swap

So i have 2 Ruger Gunsite scouts. Both are chambered in .308 and i'm thinking about swapping one to 6.5 creed. Would it be a simple barrel change and off i go or would it be more in depth than that? Also if you guys have any other caliber suggestions I'm open to ideas.

Did anyone ever get back to you on this? I want to convert one to 7mm-08.

WishIwashuntin, I do not know the bolt face for the 7-08 but I'm guessing it's the same as a .308. Yes you can do a barrel swap and have it headspaced correctly and you will be good to go assuming they are the same.
