Anybody out there using any of these bullets?
I worked up a load for my 7mm mag - 77gr of Rel 22, CCI BR primer, 120gr GS Custom HV Bullet. I started with 72gr of powder and worked up 1gr at a time. Even with 77gr (full to the bottom of the neck) I don't see any pressure signs at all.
After running 9 rounds thru the chrony my average velocity is 3635 FPS.
I sighted in 1.5" high at 100 yards and get 2" high at 200 yards and 1" low at 300 yards.
I am going to sight in 2.5" high at 100 yards and I figure that will give me a plus or minus 4" out to 400 yards. I will go to the range and shoot at 100, 200, 300, 350 and 400 to verify this. If the plus or minus 4" to 400 yards holds true I then have a 400 yard rifle (for elk) without any hold over.
Group size at 100 yards was around 3/4" and at 300 I shot a 1 1/4" group (lucky), 3 shots each.
Copper fouling was almost none after 13 rounds shot.
